About Sam
I’m a software engineer in NYC with interests primarily in quantitative research, statistical modeling, and cloud infrastructure. In my free time I make quaint CLI apps for myself, collaborate on neuroscience research, practice film photography, make furniture with hand tools, and whatever else catches my interest at the moment.
Projects

Employment
I’m currently employed at a hedge fund.
I previously worked at YipitData, as a Software Engineer on several different teams. My focus was mostly on data infrastructure and platform development. I spent the majority of my time thinking about CDK infrastructure automation, improvements to the data lake, enabling Databricks features for users, and working on deep R&D initiatives for all kinds of interesting data problems.
Before that, I was an employee at athenahealth, working as a Cloud Engineer in the Infrastructure-as-a-Service division. My day-to-day work resided in three main areas: AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes infrastructure, and tech cost monitoring.
Before that, I was a student at Emory University. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Economics.
